Swine flu has brought a lot of fear all over the world. The word ‘swine flu’ has now become one of the most terrible words. The correct knowledge can help you protect against swine flu. Prevention is always better than cure. Swine flu is a type of influenza caused by H1N1 virus. H1N1 virus is just another type of flu virus like other typical seasonal flu symptoms. The only difference is that the H1N1 virus has components of pig and bird influenza viruses in it, so that humans don’t have any immunity to it. This has made it a pandemic virus that has the ability to cause a global outbreak because it could easily spread from person-to-person. Swine Flu H1N1 Symptoms It is very important to recognize the signs and symptoms of swine flu in the early stage. Generally the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of the common winter influenza. The symptoms of swine flu begin 1-4 days after being exposed to a contagious person. Sudden chills and fever are generally the first symptoms of swine flu. Temperatures usually remain between 100F and 104F for many days. Other signs and symptoms of swine flu infections can include • Shortness of breath (dyspnea) • Dry cough, runny nose or stuffy nose, scratchy throat and head congestion • Chills • Body aches (myalgia) • Headache • Fatigue or tiredness • Sometimes diarrhea and vomiting Emergency Warning Symptoms of Swine Flu H1N1 in Children Signs of a more serious swine flu infection might include pneumonia and respiratory failure. • Trouble breathing or fast breathing • Gray or bluish skin color • Severe or persistent vomiting • Fever with a rash • Not waking up or not interacting • Not drinking enough fluids or liquid • Irritability • Symptoms of flu improve but then return with worse cough and fever Emergency Warning Symptoms of Swine Flu H1N1 in Adults • Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath • Pain or pressure in the abdomen or chest • Severe or persistent vomiting • Confusion • Sudden dizziness More serious symptoms indicate that the person with swine flu would need immediate medical attention.  To learn more about what is swine flu, how is the swine flu transmitted and how to protect against swine flu (H1N1), you need to know the complete information on swine flu H1N1. Be sure to grab the book on swine flu to keep yourself and your family away from this pandemic disease. Swine flu what is it? Swine flu A (H1N1) is a viral infection that originated from pigs and was first isolated from pigs in the 1930s. This viral infection is transmitted to humans who are in contact with swine, although there are several cases of swine flu in people who had no known exposure to either infected people or pigs. Eating pork will not cause one to develop the swine flu.   Basically, this flu is passed from one person to another like any cold or flu infection. The swine flu is diagnosed when a   physician suspects infection, and sends a nasopharyngeal swab (a Q-tip of shorts placed about 2 inches in your nose towards your throat) in a special viral collection container to a special lab to be tested. . Symptoms of all types of influenza, flu or swine flu usually appear following an incubation period of one to four days after initial exposure, and run their course over a period of seven to 10 days. The elderly, the very young, and the chronically ill are at increased risk of potentially serious complications such as bacterial bronchitis and pneumonia. Swine flu alternative  treatment Consume plenty of fluids, especially fresh juices, herbal teas, soups, and quality water, to prevent dehydration and help flush out the body. To shorten the length of the flu, go on a liquid diet emphasizing hot herbal teas and hot broth for one or two days. Take hot chicken or turkey soup. This is grandmother’s old remedy and it is still good today. Add a bit of cayenne pepper to help prevent and break up congestion. Avoid dairy products, mucus forming foods and sugar. Sleep and rest as much as possible. In treating a sore throat, avoid using aspirin chewing gum and aspirin gargles. Aspirin applied directly to mucous membranes does not reduce pain and can act as an irritant. Do not take zinc at the same time you eat or drink citrus fruits or juices. It will diminish the effectiveness of the zinc. Do consume a lot of other types of fruit. Do not take iron supplements while a fever exists. Do not give aspirin to a child who has the swine flu. The combination of aspirin and a viral illness has been linked to the development of Reye’s syndrome, a potentially dangerous complication. Fever is one of the body’s major defense mechanisms against the flu. Swine flu or other flu viruses do not survive well in a warmer environment. If you have a fever, do not try to suppress it, unless it is over 103F. If you consume alcoholic beverages even occasionally, or if you have liver or kidney disease, be cautious about using painkiller acetaminophen (Tylenol, datril, and others) the combination of alcohol and acetaminophen has been associated with serious liver problems. If you are over sixty-five see your health care provider. Swine flu or other flu viruses can cause serious complications for people in this age group. Since the swine flu and other flu viruses are often transmitted by way of the hands, wash your hands frequently with an antibacterial soap. Rinse and dry your hands thoroughly and keep them away from your eyes, nose, and mouth. If you sneeze, use a disposable tissue. Buy a new toothbrush-toothbrush can harbor viruses and prolong the illness. All treatments above are incomplete without this one. A potent natural remedy to ease swine flu A (H1N1) and other flu viruses. Very effective and powerful alternative therapy in treating even all diseases and is highly recommended by almost 15,000 European doctors. Take the time to discover and study the best swine flu alternative treatment. Just follow the link and watch the 5minute video presentation: http://www. curewithinoneminute. com

In Mexico in April this year, a never-before heard strain of swine flu emerge, turning ill more than a thousand Mexicans and causing the death of 68. Swine flu has spread to other parts of the world such as the US and New Zealand when affected individuals (Mexicans or tourists to Mexico), traveled to those places. Swine flu has spread so far and wide that the World Health Organization fears it will bring about the next pandemic. This is not the first time the world is threatened by swine flu. Swine flu, which is also referred to as pigfluenza, hog flu, pig flu, or swine influenza, typically affects pigs only. In 1918, an H1N1 virus caused flu pandemic in humans. Scientists speculated that H1N1 was created either when human influenza virus crossed specie boundary and affected pigs, or the other way around. In 1930, a study confirmed that influenza virus caused the illnesses of pigs; the viral strain was identified as H1N1. Other past outbreaks in humans include the 1976 US outbreak (number of deaths: 5) and the 1988 Wisconsin outbreak (number of deaths: 1). 2009 Swine Flu Outbreak . The strain that caused the swine outbreak in 2009, on the other hand, is different from other types of swine flu viruses before. It infects humans only. Pigs show no sign of infection. As such, scientists are having a difficult time establishing the origins of this new disease. The 2009 swine flu outbreak is caused by a strain that combines a single strain of human flu virus, a single strain of avian or bird flu virus, and two strains of swine flu virus. Transmission Swine flu virus in pig is transmitted when uninfected animals touch the nose or dried mucus of the infected pig. Transmission of swine flu from pigs to humans occurs when a person touches an infected pig such as during animal transport or cleaning of pig pens. Swine flu is not acquired by eating pork. Transmission of swine flu from human to human occurs when airborne viruses (brought about by sneezing and coughing) are inhaled by another person. Touching of contaminated surfaces and bringing one’s hand to one’s nose or mouth. Symptoms Symptoms of swine flu in humans are non-specific. They are quite similar to other types of influenza such as common flu and bird flu. People infected with swine flu often the following: • fever • chills • coughing and sneezing • sore throat • muscle pain • discomfort • fatigue • vomiting • diarrhea In pigs, swine influenza virus cause: • fever • lethargy • decrease in appetite • abortion • sneezing • coughing • weight loss • poor growth • difficulty breathing. Because swine flu symptoms are non-specific, a laboratory taste of nose or throat swab is needed to confirm viral presence. How to Prevent Spread of Swine Flu Among swine: owners should implement facility management and management. Vaccinating the pigs may also help reduce the chances of spreading of the flu. To prevent transmission of swine flu from pigs to humans, farmers, veterinarians, and other people who come in close contact with live pigs should wear masks and gloves when working with infected pigs. To prevent spread of swine flu among humans, the following steps are recommended or used in some countries: • Persons with flu should be quarantined immediately • Sick people should sneeze on tissue paper, dispose the use properly, and wash their hands. • People who traveled to Mexico and who are family members of infected persons should be vaccinated with zanamivir or oseltamivir. • Avoiding contact with sick people and with live pigs • Many countries including Russia and France issued advise against traveling to Mexico. • Always wash hands properly. At the moment, only Tamiflu and Relenza seem to work against swine flu. Many countries have a supply of these vaccines, though not enough to curb a pandemic if the current swine flu reaches that level.

Prevention of Spread of Swine Flu Dr. Kedar Karki   In Mexico in April this year, a never-before heard strain of swine flu emerge, turning ill more than a thousand Mexicans and causing the death of 68. Swine flu has spread to other parts of the world such as the US and New Zealand when affected individuals (Mexicans or tourists to Mexico), traveled to those places. Swine flu has spread so far and wide that the World Health Organization fears it will bring about the next pandemic. A June 10, 2009 update by the U. N. ’s World Health Organization (WHO) states that 74 countries have officially reported 27,737 cases of influenza A (H1N1) infection, including 141 deaths. In India till date 23 cases are being confirmed in city like Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, and Jallandhar in Punjab. Government of India is now thinking about suspension of air flight to U. S. A as most of confirmed cases in India have been detected from the persons who had recently traveled to U. S cities and had returned from there. WHO’s decision to raise the pandemic alert level to Phase 6 is a reflection of the spread of the virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus. This is not the first time the world is threatened by swine flu. Swine flu, which is also referred to as pigfluenza, hog flu, pig flu, or swine influenza, typically affects pigs only. If your symptoms are mild, stay home to avoid spreading the virus to others at the hospital.   Masks may be recommended for health care workers, family members and others who come in close contact with swine flu patients, but there is no need for the general public to wear masks.   It is safe to eat properly handled pork. Cook it to an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees.   At the moment, only Tamiflu and Relenza seem to work against swine flu. Many countries have a supply of these vaccines, though not enough to curb a pandemic if the current swine flu reaches that level.

The swine influenza A (H1N1) is a viral infection that originated from pigs and was first isolated from pigs in the 1930s. The elderly, the very young, and the chronically ill are at increased risk of potentially serious complications such as bacterial bronchitis and pneumonia. Prevention of Swine Flu Also, avoid contact with sick people whenever possible. If you are sick, stay home. Use alcohol based hand sanitizers to minimize infection risk.   Some also use the Wein Air Supply Personal Air Purifier to help reduce exposure to airborne germs.   Further, we know that eating healthy food, getting plenty of sleep and keeping your immune system strong can help prevent infections.   Vitamin D supplementation may also be of benefit when taken in adequate doses. Treatment of Swine Flu Get plenty of bed rest, preferably in a warm, well-ventilated room. Take over the counter pain relievers to ease aches and reduce fever. Drink plenty of fluids to keep mucus secretions thin and easy to expel. Drink warm liquids or gargle with salt water to alleviate sore throat. If you contract the swine flu, there are 2 flu medications, which can be helpful.   The CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir (Tami flu) or Zanamivir (Relenza) for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with swine influenza viruses.   These medications can also be used for the usual avian influenza. Symptomatic care is most important.   Antibiotics will not help.   Ask your doctor about your options.   Those at high risk should strongly be considered for treatment with medications.   High-risk patients include those with diabetes, heart disease, immune compromised, and seniors over age 65. Last June 12, a new vaccine was apparently produced by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.   If you did receive a flu vaccine this year, it will not offer you protection against the swine flu. Baxter Pharmaceuticals however issued a press release saying they are working on a vaccine also. Whether these will prove to be effective is unknown. In 1976, the swine flu vaccine actually killed more people that it helped. All prevention and treatment above are incomplete without this. A powerful and revolutionary alternative therapy. Make this one a part of your arsenal against the swine flu virus. Madison Cavanaugh, author of “The One-Minute Cure: The Secret to Healing Virtually All Diseases” has a message of hope, however. She insists that the fear is incorrectly placed on the swine flu virus itself.   “Microbes, germs, harmful bacteria and viruses, such as the swine influenza virus, do not cause disease in and of themselves,” she states. They do seek their natural dwelling place such as an oxygen- deficient body rather than being the cause of the disease. It’s no different from the way mosquitoes seek out stagnant water, but do not cause the pool to become stagnant. Therefore it can be stated that the swine flu virus does not cause disease, but rather seeks out an environment where it can thrive best and that is in oxygen-deprived bodies. A sufficiently oxygenated body is uninhabitable by disease, Madison further states, any viruses’ can neither survive nor thrive in it. Therefore, the best defense against microbes, germs, harmful bacteria and viruses, such as the swine flu virus, is to keep the body oxygenated. The one minute cure presents the therapeutic use of the only natural substance which activates the movement of oxygen atoms from the bloodstream to the cells to a dramatically greater degree than is usually reached by other means. This therapy creates an oxygenated environment that enables the body to cure itself of virtually all sickness and diseases ranging from influenza to cancer, AIDS, heart disease, asthma, diabetes and arthritis and etc. The natural oxygenating substance which is the central theme of the book has a long history of therapeutic use dating back 170 years ago when it was used to reverse a wide variety of illnesses from minor ones like colds and flu to serious ones like cholera and malaria.   It was even used to help stop the Spanish Flu of 1918. In the last 70 years, this safe, inexpensive and powerful healing modality has been administered by an estimated 15,000 European doctors, naturopaths and homeopaths to more than 10 million patients to successfully treat practically every known disease. This therapy can be self administered at home in less than a minute, and it is so inexpensive.   Therefore, it costs so little to become immune to the swine flu virus and virtually all diseases. If you haven’t already obtained a copy of “The One-Minute Cure,” the dramatic spread of the swine flu virus is one of the best reasons for you to do so. Go and click the link now and watch the 5minute video presentation for final assessment and you will discover that this is one the best alternative swine flu – prevention and treatment. http://www. curewithinoneminute. com

What is “Swine flu”? Swine flu is a viral infection basically found in pigs that is caused by swine influenza virus. It is very rare to get swine flu in humans except in some cases where people have direct contact with pigs. Currently, the nature of swine flu virus transmission has changed and it can be transmitted from humans to humans even if there is no prior contact with pigs. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses. For more information visit www. askmedicaldoctor. com How does the swine flu spread? In the present outbreak of swine flu, the virus is spread by air borne contact. Infection can be transmitted through cough, sneeze, or even by touching the objects that have been touched by an infected individual. Chances of infection are more if after touching these objects one touches the eyes, mouth, or nose. Can you get swine flu by eating pork? Swine flu cannot be spread by pork products, since the virus is not transmitted through food. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 70ºC and above kills the swine flu virus. What are the symptoms of swine flu? Since it is a viral infection, its symptoms are similar to Influenza. In humans, the symptoms include: -Fever -Cough -Sore throat -Runny nose -Headache -Fatigue -General body aches -Diarrhea and vomiting -Neurological symptoms (Especially in children) How to prevent swine flu? There are several ways to prevent swine flu. Wash your hands with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizers after being out in the public. Also eat a healthy nutritious diet and drink plenty of fluids and keep your household articles clean with disinfectant or diluted chlorine bleach. Avoid close contact with people who might be infected. Wear a face mask (consider using an N95 respirator) if you must come into close contact with a sick person. How to diagnose swine flu? Diagnosis of swine flu is done by collecting respiratory specimens during the first 4 to 5 days of illness (10 days in children) and getting real-time RT-PCR and/or viral culture specifically for Swine Influenza A (H1N1) Virus. Hence, if one has any of the swine flu symptoms, a doctor’s consultation is necessary. For more information visit www. askmedicaldoctor. com What is the treatment of swine flu? As it is a viral illness, hence, majority make a full recovery without requiring medical attention or antiviral drugs. However, the use of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir) for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with swine influenza viruses has been found to be effective. In the recent outbreak, the virus has been found to be resistant to amantadine and rimantadine. Is there a vaccine for swine flu? There is no vaccine for swine flu as yet. But vaccines are being made in large quantities and clinical tests will begin in August 2009. How to deal with a swine flu patient at home? If any of your family members have fever with cough or sore throat, make sure to consult your doctor at the earliest. Suspected person should stay home for seven days after symptoms begin and should wear a face mask or N95 respirator. He/ She should throw the used tissues and other disposable items in the trash and immediately wash his hands afterwards. Alternatively, wipes or gels with alcohol in them can be used to clean hands. Linens, eating utensils and dishes belonging to suspected cases should be washed by using household laundry soap and tumbled dry. One should wash one’s hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub immediately after handling dirty laundry and other household items of suspected individuals. Children should be strictly prohibited from close contact and an infected breast feeding mother should express her breast milk, and the child should be fed by someone else. If the investigations come out positive, then the infected individual should be quarantined in an isolated ward in a hospital and treatment started to prevent complications. What is the role of face masks in swine flu prevention? The role of face masks and respirators as the first line of defense against the virus is still controversial. But these offer additional protection against the air borne illness. N-95 respirators are better than face masks or surgical masks but it is hard to breathe through them for extended periods and are inconvenient to wear for children and people with facial hair. What is the prognosis of patients with swine flu? Most of the patients of swine flu recover with no complications. Patients with depressed immune function or those who are seriously ill have worse prognosis compared to those who are immunocompetent. How does swine flu kill? Swine flu being an air borne infection infects the respiratory system chiefly lungs and causes lung infections. It can also cause secondary infection which can affect the vital organs of the body and lead to death. What precautions should you take while travelling? Apart from the general measures described above to prevent swine flu, if you become ill in any way while in the country, you should seek medical advice immediately. Also consult your health care provider and discuss the various risks associated with the disease if you are travelling to any country that has reported cases of flu among birds, swine, or humans. Swine Flu – Alternative Medicine Solutions Swine flu cases are set to grow exponentially over the next few months. The chief medical officers have been predicting and warning us all about a flu pandemic for a number of years now. This flu not only brings the same aches and pains but comes with a ‘cytokine storm’ that causes symptoms that may lead to pneumonia. This may be fatal so all asthmatics beware. This time the warnings are real. In this article I will set out some natural medicines you should be taking to stop getting infected by swine flu and also some remedies to treat it if you do. All of these suggestions are based on modern scientific research. However, if you suspect you have swine flu you must go to your doctor to be on the safe side, especially if you are having breathing difficulties and having chest pain. Best thing overall is to try and make yourself less susceptible. In pandemics like this, large groups of people do not get infected as there are less susceptible. There are more than 200 viruses that can cause the common cold and flu, and usually the signs of infection strike, 18 to 24 hours after the virus enter the body. So here are some very simple and effective ways of both boosting your immunity so we escape infection and self-treatment if you do catch the swine flu. These will help bring about a quicker recovery. All natural medicine interventions must focus on not only boosting the immune system but rather a balance between stimulating the immunity and reducing the production of cytokines causing a storm and its harmful life threatening effects. What Is Swine Flu? Swine flu is the flu that is causing the latest flu pandemic worldwide. The flu is a respiratory disease that affects pigs. However it is now affecting humans at massive levels. Flu normally affects vulnerable people like the very young and old however swine flu attacks the healthy person – the 18 to 50s section of the world. One disturbing feature of this virus is that it causes a ‘cytokine storm’ in the body. A cytokine is a biochemical that normally responds to infections and directs the immune system. However in swine flu they are over produced causing harm to the body organs and causing fluid to build in the lungs. As well as all the regular flu symptoms such as headaches, aches, pneumonia can also develop as a result of swine flu. The Cytokene Storm – Damage Control The cytokine storm that is created by the body in response to the swine flu is caused by the swine flu being unaffected by the body’s immune response. This causes an over production of cytokines ( TFN-a and IL-6) by the body. This is what killed many people during the Spanish flu in 1918 in the USA. Foods such as; honey, chocolate, spirulena algae and particularly elderberry need to be avoided as they increase the production of cytokines in the body. Try and drink lots of apple, lemon and cranberry juice who have all shown an ability to decrease cytokine production in the body. . Cut out all mucous forming especially diary foods as the respiratory system is the virus breeding ground. So it’s not just the virus you have to watch out for it’s actually the cytokine storm. The more people that become aware of this the better for both its treatment and outcomes. Natural Medicine Natural medicine has been practiced for centuries and moreover in the prevention of disease as well as the treatment of it. Over 80% of the world use herbal medicine as the first method of medical treatment. Natural medicine has been used very successfully when there has been a major health crisis taking place. Especially during the Spanish flu epidemic where you had a better survival rate if you went to a homeopathic hospital Neurominidase Blockers The swine flu virus needs neurominidase enzyme in order to replicate. An enzyme is a biological catalyst. The first thing you must do is to decrease you susceptibility to the virus. In order to do this a vitamin and mineral supplement is necessary as part of your diet. Drink the juices of apple, lemon and cranberry juice. Vitamin C and vitamin E has been shown to reduce flu virus loads and also a reduction in cytokines by blocking neurominidase. Green tea has also a very good effect in reduction of cytokine production. Vitamin Supplements You should also be taking a proper vitamin and mineral supplement to guard you against flu and also a whole load of other diseases. However this vitamin and minerals you should be taking must be in a food form and not isolated synthetic chemical like ascorbic acid that is sold internationally as vitamin C. The real nutrients that you are looking for can be found at StarGate Nutrition Vitamin website. All their nutrients are in a nature form that your body will understand. They provide the full spectrum of required vitamins and minerals. You should be focusing on lemon juice for vitamin C and also to alkalize your blood to make it more inhabitable for the swine flu virus. The mineral zinc needs to be also consumed and the best way is by eating oysters and sunflower seeds which are foods naturally high in these minerals. Homeopathy Popular for years in Asia with over 250,000 doctors qualified as homeopathy in India alone, homeopathy has recently become Europe’s fastest growing form of alternative medicine. Last year sales of homeopathic medicines in Europe topped £3billion. Debate about how it scientifically works are heated, but most Europeans are now going to a homeopath as their first course of treatment and 20 per cent of Scottish GPs currently practice the specialty. Many scientific studies have been carried out to proves its efficacy medically and especially in flu outbreaks such as this. Critics of homeopathy say that the medicine is no more than the placebo effect psychological factors causing improvement unrelated to drug therapy. However, Dr David Reilly of The Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital led a team of scientists who compared placebo and homeopathy in four trials conducted over 15 years in patients with allergies such as hayfever and asthma. All four studies showed a greater effect from the homeopathic medicine than from the placebo. Overall there have been over 200 trials and over 70 per cent of these conclude that homeopathy is better than placebo. Private European insurers cover homeopathic treatments, and The World Health Organisation recommends them. A few years ago Spain took an initiative to incorporate homeopathy into its national health service. A report to the American Institute of Homeopathy in 1921 documented the dramatic success of homeopathy in the worst flu pandemic in history. The death rate of 24,000 flu cases under conventional medical care in that study was 28. 2 percent, while the death rate of 26,000 cases treated with homeopathy was a nearly miraculous 1. 05 percent. When a similar strain of bird flu, misleadingly termed Spanish Flu, spread around the world in 1918, there is no doubt that it had catastrophic consequences. 50 million people died.   Nevertheless, American hospital statistics from the time show that homeopathic treatment gave a far better chance of survival than conventional treatment did.   The statistics are reported in Randall Neustaedter’s excellent book “Flu:  Alternative Treatments and Prevention”. For at least the past 150 years homeopathic practitioners have used the medicine Influenzinum as a flu preventive. Influenzinum is a homeopathic medicine made from flu viruses. A proprietary preparation is produced by homeopathic pharmacies each year using the flu virus strains recommended by the World Health Organization for the year’s vaccine production (Dolivaxil – containing Influenzinum 9C). The typical dosage is once per week for four weeks beginning in October or later, followed by another dose three weeks later. You should have Gelsemium 30c in your house and take when someone sneezes in a bus or your office. This can stop the virus taking root in the body and acts as a preventative. The first medicine used in France to treat flu is Oscillococcinum made by Boiron and sells 7 million euros annually. Boiron was bought recently by the Bayer group. Oscillococcinum Alternative Medicine To Tamiflu This remedy recently toped pharmacy sales list and sales in the US alone are in the region of £20 million. A course costs of Oscillococcinum costs £6, which is used regularly by 5 million French for the prevention of colds and flu’s every year. Lets face it five million French can’t be wrong? Oscillococcinum was first studied in France during the 1987 flu epidemic caused by an H1N1 virus similar to the bird flu of today. This multi-centre study examined the effect of Oscillococcinum (200C) on the early symptoms of flu. Results were published in the peer-reviewed British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. More patients in the treatment group recovered completely in the first 48 hours than the control group (17 percent of patients with active treatment compared to 10 percent of controls). More patients in the treatment group also judged the treatment as favorable compared to the placebo, 61 percent vs 49 percent (Ferley, 1989). In 1990 German scientists replicated the French study of Oscillococcinum. They used the same criteria as the previous study and enrolled 372 patients. After 48 hours of treatment with Oscillococcinum the treatment group had considerably milder symptoms than the control group, and the number of patients with no symptoms from day two onward was significantly greater in the treatment group (17. 4 percent) compared to the control group (6. 6 percent) (Papp, 1998). Both of these studies show a significant curative effect of a homeopathic medicine in the treatment of flu in carefully conducted, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. Conventional antiviral drugs reduce the duration of flu by about one day if taken within the first 48 hours of illness (Cooper, 2003). These studies shows that homeopathy carries the potential to make a dramatic difference in any flu epidemic without the risk of drug side effects. However, is anyone planning to stockpile homeopathic medicines proven to effectively treat the flu for over one hundred years? St Johns Worth & Goldenseal NOT Echinacea. Many people might be reaching for the herbal remedy called Echinacea to treat their swine flu or prevent it by boosting the immune system. Stop. In swine flu treatment Echinacea will cause the production of cytokines which will further damage your body. The best herbs to use during this flu are St Johns Worth which is a potent antiviral as well as a famous antidepressant. The herbs adaptogenic qualities may help the body adapt to the cytokine storm making it have less an impact. Turmeric, the spice, has an ability to be more powerful the pharmaceutical cox-2 inhibitors. Turmeric works in swine flu by blocking the production of cytokines. One herb I have been personally using over the past few years is Goldenseal which reduces colds and flu’s symptoms quite dramatically. Very little is written about it. Garlic is essential to include in your diet and has an affinity for the lungs as a herb. This can assist in blocking the development of pneumonia and reduce any lung infection by taking at least one clove mashed a day. Parsley will reduce the odour if you need it. Aromatherapy Tea tree essential oil from Australia that is very popular world wide is really important in terms of it being the only essential oil that is anti – viral bacterial and fungal. Lavender is very useful in the production of white blood cells. Tea tree oil may reduce the viral load causing a reduction in cytokine load. Probiotics Natural bacteria in the gut are essential to maintaining proper health and digestive functioning. Antibiotics not only kill the organisms that cause colds and flu’s but also kill the good gut bacteria. In order to reintroduce the effects of the bacteria you reintroduce them by eating bioactive yoghurts made with strains of gut bacteria such as Lactobacillus. This may also help to reduce any thrush symptoms caused from antibiotics.

How do I know if I have symptoms of Swine Flu? Are the swine flu symptoms of children the same as H1N1 symptoms adults? Let us know the answer to the question “Do I have symptoms of Swine Flu?” Swine Flu is a number one health concern the world over. The HI1N1 flu or Swine Flu was first detected in US in April 2009. The worst affected areas initially were Canada and Mexico before swine flu cases began to emerge in other areas of the world. In a short span of four months, the disease has spread to almost all regions in the world. World Health Organization has called H1N1 as pandemic which means a big epidemic that involves the entire country or perhaps the world. Usually, the signs of a pandemic are when a virus without any immunity to stop it, spreads across various parts of the world. Risk factors of Swine Flu Swine Flu spreads from person to person in the same way as regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. People with high risk for seasonal flu are also at high risk for Swine Flu. For example, people above 65 years of age, pregnant women, children below 5 years of age and those with chronic medical conditions and lifestyle diseases like diabetes are at high risk of getting swine flu. Symptoms of Swine Flu In children, the symptoms of swine flu include: 1. Rapid Breathing or Difficulty in breathing. 2. Grayish or Bluish Skin Color 3. Dehydration 4. Persistent of severe vomiting 5. Not able to interact properly with people, become irritable 6. Flu like symptoms, bad cough and fever In adults, the symptoms of swine flu include: 1. Shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing 2. Pain in chest or abdomen 3. Sudden dizziness or loss of energy 4. Severe or continuous vomiting 6. Flu like symptoms, bad cough and fever The symptoms of H1N1 swine flu is similar to the ones that people get in regular, seasonal flu and so things like fever, sneezing, cough, body ache, head ache, shivering, sore throat and fatigue are common. Diarrhea and vomiting are also symptoms that have been associated with some cases of swine flu. How do I catch swine flu? H1N1 Swine Flu is transmitted the same way like seasonal flu. Flu viruses are spread usually from person to person through sneezing or coughing by people who have influenza. Some people may become infected with the deadly H1N1 by touching something that has virus on it and then bringing to their nose or mouth How can someone with swine flu infect it to someone else? Infected people can actually infect others from the first day itself, even before they themselves get any symptoms. This means there are also chances that one can pass on the symptoms of swine flu even before she or he knows that she or he is sick. How do I protect myself from swine flu? How can I take precautions against swine flu? There is no vaccine that can protect you or be prevention against H1N1 Swine Flu. You can only maintain hygiene and take care to prevent spread of germs that can lead to illnesses like influenza. Here are the ways in which you can prevent yourself against swine flu: 1. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Throw the tissue in the trash after you sneeze into it. 2. Wash your hands with a liquid handwash like Dettol or Lifebuoy, especially after you cough or sneeze. 3. Do not touch your mouth, eyes or nose. Germs can spread in this manner. 4. Avoid contact with people who are infected with swine flu. This is sad but then the disease is highly infective. 5. If you are sick with influenza, stay at home and do not go to school or work. Limit your contact with people so that they do not get infected. 6. Do not venture into crowded spaces. 7. Increase the airflow in your room by opening the windows for proper ventilation. 8. Sleep well, eat nutritious food and practise healthy habits so that you are physically active and immune to the flu How long can the Swine Flu virus stay on things like doorknobs and furniture? According to medical experts, the influenza virus can stay on environmental surfaces and infect people from 2 to 8 hours after being deposited on things like door knobs, books etc. Germs of swine flu can spread when a person touches infected areas or infected people and then touches their eyes, ears, nose or mouth. Cough droplets or sneeze from an infected person can travel through the area. When a person comes in contact with droplets of sneeze of another person or touches things like books or desk of that person that is contaminated with sneeze droplets, and touches his or her own eyes, mouth, nose etc; before washing hands, one can contract H1N1 virus. What are the medicines and treatment options for H1N1 swine flu? Taking oseltamivir(Tamiflu) or zanamivir(Relenza) can treat swine flu or H1N1 but they should be taken in the early stages of the disease. Antiviral drugs or prescription medicines can make your immune system strong and keep the flu viruses at bay and stop them from reproducing in your body. So, you should start taking antiviral drugs within two days of getting H1N1 or influenza symptoms. How do I prevent getting H1N1 (Swine flu) in high risk areas? If you live in places where people have been infected with H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus or have influenza like symptoms mentioned above, then you should stay home and avoid contact with these people. If you develop flu like symptoms, do not leave things to chance and take instant medical care. Your health care provider or doctor will be able to tell you whether H1N1 flu testing is required. Does WHO recommend using a MASK? If you are not sick or if you are not living in high risk areas, it is not required to wear a mask. If a near and dear one is sick with H1N1, you need to wear a mask since you will be in close contact with the ill person. Dispose the mask after contact and wash and clean your hands thoroughly. Using the mask correctly is important because using it incorrectly will spread infection. How can I differentiate between H1N1 Swine Flu and seasonal flu? You cannot tell the difference between HI1N1 Swine Flu and Seasonal Flu without a medical verdict on it. Since symptoms for both the diseases are same like cough, headache, sneezing, fever, runny nose etc, only your doctor will be able to say if you have H1N1 virus. In case, your doctor suspects symptoms, they will have your blood sample, nasopharyngeal (nose to mouth) and throat swab to laboratories. Home remedies for swine flu: There are no home remedies for swine flu, especially when you have to figure out if it is swine flu or season flu. Swine Flu requires anti-viral drugs because treating it is an emergency issue. However you can prevent the spread of swine flu and strengthen your immune system by doing the following: Wash your hands properly before having a meal, not just with soap and water. Wear face mask before going outside. If someone is coughing or sneezing near you, cover your nose and mouth with palms or a hanky. Swine flu gets into the body through the mouth and nose. Drink lemon balm tea because it has anti-viral properties. Chew fresh garlic cloves because they have antiviral properties as well. Steam inhalation with chamomile or eucalyptus thrice a day can relieve lung congestion and prevent swine flu symptoms

What about this for a plot – any good writers out there?   2 politicians – rivals – but thrown together and one quickly cottoning on to the fact that together he/they can achieve – and they do – party into power – long period of success fuelled by the charm and skilled oratory of the one and the skilled financial crookery & manipulation of the other – hey ho – things starting to get a touch difficult so boss man decides time to go in order to complete his conquering of the world and  building of his financial empire from a more accepting and friendly dinner guest audience.   The other? – Well of course he is handed the poisoned chalice of leadership which by now has poisioned most of the worlds financial systems and comes tumbling down around his ears – does he worry? – not a bit of it – by now he is the consummate manipulator, spinner of spin & crook of all crooks – so he simply presents himself as the rescuer of the worlds financial systems ably assisted by some clever teamwork with his former boss as they deftly manoeuvre into place the new boy on the block who just happens to be leader of the most powerful nation in the world – which of course is also suffering deeply from the crookedness of the financial system engineered by these two crafty and crooked politicians.   Meanwhile the press is getting ever more intrusive and some blatant exposure of the lying and deceit inside the leaders office is this time not calmed by his out and out denial – no – he is actually forced onto the back step of an apology.   Little wonder then that he enters the G20 financial summit hatching a clever plan to divert the world’s attention away from the crumbling and rotten financial and political morass – with a couple of other leaders alongside and shortly afterwards …. well would you believe it… an outbreak of Swine flu which of course is enough to scare the pants off a world already down in the dumps and deftly set up earlier by bird flu to predictably react to such scare mongering diversionary tactics.   Does not take much of a leap of imagination for one to envisage a bio chemist secret agent quietly dispatched to Mexico as a tourist with a carefully prepared phial of potent virus. (More than likely designed to extinguish itself within a few weeks – just watch – I bet this scare disappears in a couple of weeks as quickly as it has begun. )  Come on, look at it, this sort of happening is only the daily grist of the main time scary TV dramas we are repeatedly fed.   Oh! And of course we must remember the design includes the advantage of offering ‘New Boy’ some help – I mean that Mexico border and the immigrants – put a stop to that for a while eh!   And what a lucky break for our erstwhile and scheming politician – the first planeload of infected tourists to land back home back happen to be from Scotland – just the job – what with them being run by those pesky Nationalists and causing all sorts of problems.   All in all a story with a lot of stinking ‘Brown’ stuff in it. Just wants a heroic and clever rebel agent now to expose it all and fit in a real nice ending. That would of course firmly establishes it as total fiction.
